The Story

  • This is one of our very favourite hydrangeas, dazzling with its showy flowers, long flowering period and free-flowering nature.
  • Flowering all the way from June through to September, the bluest flower colour will be achieved in acidic soil (around pH 5.5). The higher the pH, the more purple/pink the blooms will be.
  • Hardy, easygoing and even suitable for growing in a large container, 'Blue Expression' is the definition of a delight!
  • These lovely blooms make for great cut flowers and look wonderful as part of a bouquet alongside other flowers like roses and peonies, or greenery like ferns.
  • Hydrangeas are known for their salt tolerance, meaning they're a great option if you're looking to create a coastal garden. Also being suited to partial shade, they're viable for woodland schemes, too.
