- Strong, resilient English Oak makes a classic deciduous native hedge that supports wildlife
- Clusters of multi-lobed, deep green leaves on gently twisting branches, catkins in spring and acorns in autumn. The leaves turn orange and reddish-brown in autumn. Perfect for hedging as it produces tap roots early in life, which means it doesn't steal moisture and nutrients from the surrounding plants
- A fully hardy, fast growing plant which will reach a height of approx 10m but can easily be maintained at 1-4m
- Oak will grow well in all soil types and sites
- English Oak supports more wildlife species than any other native tree or hedge, including insects, nesting birds and small mammals, with the acorns providing food for woodland animals such as deer, squirrels and badgers. Even the fallen leaves, when they break down into leaf mould, support hundreds of insect and fungi species
