The Story

  • Cherry Laurel is a large-leaved, dense evergreen hedging plant
  • Glossy, bright green leaves up to 15cm long. Racemes of delicate white flowers appear in the spring and are followed by glossy red cherry-like fruits which turn black in autumn
  • A fully hardy, fast growing hedge which will reach a height of approx 8m but can easily be maintained at 1-5m
  • Cherry Laurel will grow well in normal to clay soils and most conditions including partial shade - it doesn't like chalky or shallow soils
  • A low maintenance plant which due to its density is perfect for screening and as a windbreak
  • Leaves and fruit can be harmful if eaten. Wear gloves and wash hands after gardening
  • RHS Plants for Pollinators - recognised for its value to pollinators
