The Story
- The most elegant bamboo, with glossy ink-black canes covered in lush green leaves. Perfect for creating a natural screen or noise barrier, black bamboo also makes a stunning feature plant in a pot.
- A versatile evergreen which grows between four and five metres high (but is easily clipped to any height). Vigorous and easy-going, this plant will quickly become a firm favourite. Trust us.
- Winner of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, black bamboo produces the most striking colour when planted in full sun. Alternate it with a green bamboo (like bissetii) for maximum contrast.Â
- Remove the lower leaves and side shoots up to 120cm to show off the canes to their best effect. Never buy garden canes again - new culms are formed yearly, so harvest the old ones to use as supports!
