The Story

  • Extra large velvety royal-purple flowers
  • Contrasting snowdrop white stamens
  • RHS Award of Garden Merit
  • Perfect twined around a trellis or arbour
  • Fast growing and easy maintenance
  • Can be both a Group 2 or a Group 3 ClematisDepending on how you decide to prune this variety, it can either be a Group 2 or a Group 3 Clematis. Group 2 Celmatis' flower once in early Summer, have a first flush of flowers which will die away, and then will flower a second time in later summer. Group 3 Clematis' flower later in summer and continuously usually into Autumn. To prune Group 2–in late winter/early spring prune away any weak, congested, or damaged growth and the prune the remaining branchest to the highest healthy looking bud. Once the first bloom has finished prune the stems halfway down to a strong-looking bud. To prune Group 3–Prune entire plant to a healthy bud 1ft from the ground in early Srping.
  • Please Note: Our climbers are pruned back each winter, and some during the summer, so you may find at certain times of year they do not cover the whole 90cm cane. This is intentional to ensure the best growth when you plant out
